V-Card Diaries: Cara " Why is there a vast moral gap between having a penis in your mouth and in your vagina"

Today we're highlighting Cara in the UK, who is skeptical about virginity yet still waiting for someone special to lose it with. If you want to tell your story, go to our submission form. You can find all our V-Card Diaries here. Tell us about yourself: I'm an eighteen year old, British art student.

How do you define virginity? To me, the entire concept of virginity is a bit silly; I don't think that people lose or gain anything when they 'do it' for the first time. I don't really understand why there is a vast moral gap between having a penis in your mouth and having a penis in your vagina, so I suppose that, for me, a person is no longer a virgin when you allow someone else to be a part of your sexuality.

Tell us your story I'm a virgin, and while I'm led to believe that virginity is coveted in some other cultures, in mine, as a teenager, it's seen as something shameful–people at school will call you 'tame', and openly wonder at your sexual orientation and your ability to 'get' a man. I've had boyfriends before, but because of Uni and friends and an intrinsic fear of being bored, none of those relationships have survived past the casual first stages. I'm not waiting for someone I love, I'm just waiting for someone who I feel that I COULD love, given the right chance and the right time, and who I'm sure feels the same way about me...as clichéd as it is, someone 'special'.

NOTE Just a reminder: We’re getting amazing feedback for our work, but it won’t get finished without your support. Please consider backing the project on Kickstarter. Thanks!
