The comic book series "American Virgin" came to an end last month with issue #23. I'm not much of a comic book kind of gal – reading all those little balloons takes so much work – but I can't resist the title. Here's the publisher's description of the series, which is written by Steven T. Seagle:
Adam Chamberlain is a 20-year-old youth minister, a best-selling author, and most important, the head of a rabid national virginity movement. But practicing virgin or not, Adam is about to lose it when his girlfriend is killed.
You can download the first issue, gorgeously drawn by Becky Cloonan, at the Vertigo site. From what I can tell, the premise of the series allows the creators to throw every kind of lurid sexual temptation at Adam as he goes on a quest to find out what really happened to his girlfriend. Good times. Wikipedia has the whole series outline, and it's definitely for mature audiences only. By the way, Head, the title of the first series, refers to the missing part of his girlfriend, not option 2 on our virginity quiz.
